After watching the last home match of the season for the Harvard men’s team, Coach Ricardo and I were invited for a small dinner celebration for the three seniors in the team.
As you know, Daniel Milavsky participated in our programs from a very early age, and it was an honor to be a part of this celebration. It filled us with pride to hear people talk about Daniel being a leader, a mentor and someone who kept growing as a person while at Harvard at the same time that his game kept improving in order to position himself as one of the very best college players in the country.
As we were going around saying goodbye to the people we knew, we spent a few minutes chatting with the team’s head coach (Andrew Rueb) who gave us some additional nice words about Daniel and about being there for him on that special day. Andrew finished that short conversation by saying: “ok guys, we got Chris Clayton (Class of 2009) and Milavsky (Class of 2025), so WHO is next from your program?!?!
That question created an incredible windstorm inside my head for the past few days as my mind goes through the list of warriors that we teach every day, and evaluates their commitment, their schedule and the resilient approach to each and every week.
Have dreams, set some goals that are focused on a holistic approach to the game, and get out there with the mindset to outwork the competition. Our entire team is here to help YOU be that “next” warrior that ends up achieving way more than was expected or forecasted because we have been constant witnesses of those type of stories being written in front of our eyes.
